About the Event
Madeline McCully is a storyteller, writer and artist living in Derry. She is the author and illustrator of several books- Derry Folk Tales, Haunted Derry, Haunted Donegal and Haunted Antrim. She is busy writing her next book. Her writing appears in several anthologies. Madeline has won several awards for her writing and storytelling.
Her deep interest in Irish Folklore, customs and traditions comes from many childhood holidays spent at her great-aunt’s cottage in Donegal where people often gathered to tell stories, and play music.
Madeline has been interviewed several times on BBC Radio and local radio. She sings and plays autoharp which is very popular during sessions she delivers to people living with dementia.
